Jade Lyngdoh

Jade, a co-founder of the Centre, serves as a Director, overseeing legal initiatives. He is responsible for its day-to-day operations.
He graduated from National Law University, Jodhpur, where he was recognised as a Meta Scholar. He earned a dual degree in Law and Humanities, specialising in Constitutional Law.
Jade was previously a fellow at the National Law School of India University, widely recognised as India's premier law school. He has served as a research assistant for a report concerning international standards and blasphemy laws, published by the High-Level Panel of Legal Experts on Media Freedom, and contributed to an international study on government-mandated internet shutdowns.
Jade has advised governments on topics ranging from public sector reforms and the legality of preventive detention to formulating climate change policies, while also facilitating collaboration with key international organizations, universities, and institutions. In addition, he has shadowed lawyers in proceedings before the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and various trial courts.
Jade's columns have been featured in some of India’s most respected publications, including The Wire, The Telegraph, and Hindustan Times.
