Inputs to UN Special Rapporteur on Special Rapporteur on summary, extrajudicial or arbitrary executions

The Tynrai Centre for Policy was pleased to submit its inputs to the Special Rapporteur for the forthcoming report to the 60th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The inputs were in relation to the investigation and prevention of unlawful killings by law enforcement officials.

The Call for Inputs sought information, data, and analysis addressing the following in relation to cases of summary, extrajudicial or arbitrary executions:

  • Definitions and Legal Frameworks

  • Patterns and Contexts of Risks

  • Investigation and Accountability Mechanisms

  • Institutional and Structural Factors

  • Thematic Areas of Particular Concern

  • Good Practices and Preventive Measures

In line with the Code of Conduct for Special Procedures Mandate-holders of the Human Rights Council and Manual of Operations of the Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, mandate holders operate based on objective, reliable information and dependable facts.

In light of the sensitive nature of the submission, the Centre will not publish a copy of it on its website until the Special Rapporteur has published submissions received in response to the Call for Inputs. Stay tuned to this page for updates on the full submission of the Centre.
